Trauma therapy
When the past still feels close.
Support for adults in Parrish and throughout Florida. You don’t have to tell everything all at once.
You may know that a difficult experience is over, yet still feel its effects in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or body.
You might feel easily startled, struggle to relax, avoid certain situations, or find yourself shutting down when things become overwhelming. Sometimes the connection to the past is clear. Sometimes it takes time to understand.
At Renewed Mind, you have space to explore these experiences without having to tell everything all at once.
Trauma can affect how you move through everyday life.
You may notice:
- Feeling on edge, even during ordinary moments.
- Strong reactions that are difficult to understand or manage.
- Memories or reminders that interrupt your day.
- Difficulty trusting others or feeling close to them.
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or your emotions.
- Shame, self-blame, or a persistent sense that something is wrong with you.
These experiences can have different causes. Together, we’ll explore what they mean in the context of your life.
A thoughtful pace. A shared process.
Trauma therapy begins with getting to know you and understanding what support you need.
We may work on ways to feel more grounded, recognize what brings up distress, and respond to overwhelming emotions. As appropriate, we can also explore painful experiences and the meanings they have taken on.
You’ll have opportunities to ask questions, share concerns, and talk about the pace of our work. You don’t need to push through discomfort silently.
Moving toward more choice in the present.
Our work may focus on helping you:
- Recognize when past experiences are influencing the present.
- Develop ways to manage distress.
- Understand patterns of protection, avoidance, or disconnection.
- Work through painful beliefs about yourself.
- Build boundaries and relationships that support your well-being.
Your goals and treatment plan will reflect your individual needs.
Your next step can be a small one.
You don’t have to figure it all out before reaching out. Let’s begin with a conversation.
